Igbo Leaders’ Support Adds Momentum to Calls for Nnamdi Kanu’s Release

Written by gcsjjustified

An Abia monarch and Igbo youth groups have voiced their support for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). They have backed calls by Southeast governors and the Ohanaeze Ndigbo socio-cultural group for Kanu's freedom. The Igbo leaders and youth organizations believe that Kanu's continued detention is fueling insecurity and unrest in the region. They are urging President Bola Tinubu to take steps to facilitate Kanu's release through dialogue, in order to "douse the agitations in Igboland." This show of support from influential Igbo figures underscores the growing pressure on the federal government to find a political solution to the Nnamdi Kanu case.
