Negotiations Stall as University Non-Teaching Staff Unions’ Strike Continues

Written by gcsjjustified

The meeting between the Federal Government and representatives from the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), and the National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) has ended in a deadlock. The meeting, which was aimed at resolving the ongoing strike by these unions, failed to reach an agreement. According to reports, the unions are demanding the payment of four months' withheld salaries and other unresolved issues. The failure to find a resolution has prolonged the strike, which has disrupted academic activities in Nigerian universities. Both sides have expressed disappointment at the lack of progress, and further negotiations will be necessary to end the impasse and get students back to school.
